Dennis Survival (Hisardut) Ju-Jitsu is a combat system developed by Dr Dennis Hanover, ranked as a Dan 10 in this superior self-defence martial art. Hisardut (a Hebrew word meaning survival) has successfully and effectively proved itself under heavy combat conditions throughout the last fifty years. This modern Ju-Jutsu method, which incorporates European Ju-Jutsu, is an advanced martial art style which has been used effectively against terrorism and violence throughout the 21st century,
The Dennis Hisardut Ju-Jitsu International Centre combines various techniques for extreme survival and self-defence. Established throughout Israel, it has expanded quickly with branches opening around the world. It promotes survival tactics and self-defence and is a widely respected martial art recommended by government agencies and for citizens alike.
Dennis Hisardut Ju-Jitsu is a way of life.
The method of Hisardut is based on three basic values. Respect, discipline and self-awareness – with the underlying principles being respect for God, country, the family unit and oneself.
This method strengthens the body and mind and enriches pure values. From these values behaviour patterns will emerge that help to guide its members in everyday life and help them to confidently accept opportunities and deal with challenges that come their way.
The principles for Dennis Hisardut Ju-Jitsu are simple:
Know your place in the world
Be proud of your country
Respect your family and friends
Enrich and contribute to the society you live in
Respect animals and the environment
Help people in need
These basic values continue to have a profound affect on Hisardut members. Many volunteers come forward and contribute greatly to their own communities. One example among many is the training of the young and disadvantaged in a Youth Centre in Neve Hadad in Israel. Hisardut members freely give their time to the Centre offering coaching sessions in Hisardut techniques and by volunteering as counselors.
Dennis Hisardut Ju-Jitsu, is a system of superior martial art technique and the method gives the members the tools to cope with the threat of terrorism, violence and weaponry use, a reality which Israel has had to contend with over the years. The method combines many unique martial art elements from around the world – Judo, Karate and Ju-Jitsu self-defence techniques.
Hisardut Ju-Jitsu gives its members the ability to stand firm under stress, to cope with varying levels of risk and to be ready and alert and able to handle these situations in the best way.
The teaching method suits people of all ages and the training gives emphasis on strengthening the weak points in individuals. There is also an established and successful women’s division taught by Danielle Genfol, developed by Edward Lindenbaum and Lee Baker Hanover, supervised and managed by Dennis Hanover himself.
There are annual championships, dedicated to the memory of those who have trained in Hisardut, with teams participating from all over Israel and many countries throughout the world.
Dr. Daniel Halper (7th Dan) and Jacob Mottola – a medic and a Dan 6 are always present throughout the Israel Championships, providing regulated medical assistance, if required, ensuring the ultimate safety of its Hisardut members.
Dr. Dennis Hanover (Dan 10) – The president and founder of Hisardut
Guy Hanover (9th Dan) – Vice President. Grandmaster and Director
Formulated over the years, a team of consultants, most of whom are veterans of Hisardut, greatly contribute their time and help to improve and promote the practice. The team is responsible for a range of activities helping to encourage, promote and develop the superior Hisardut Ju-Jitsu martial art technique.
